"You obviously don't know what we stand for," she sneered, accentuating the word "we" so as to point out his exclusion. Pariah.
"We stand for the greater good. We stand for ourselves. Wizards and witches are the dominant species, and so they shall reign. The Ministry hiding us is just mollycoddlying the whiny, ignorant Muggles. Their Minister knows about us and handles it quite well. The parents of Mudbloods know too, and nobody has gone nuts yet. The rest of the population can too. And if they don't handle it well... then that's their fault." Ava knew that the words her Lord spoke were true, that she could believe in them because the were real and honest and good. Her Lord knew what was best for mankind, both of the wizarding world and of the Muggle world. Why wasn't anyone listening?

Jack shook his head, standing from the piano and walking around it, his fingers tracing patterns in the dust that had collected on the wooden surface. "Merlin you're naive.. You think every Muggle would accept us? I'm gussing you failed History of Magic back when you were a kid. Witch hunting, the burnings, the mass murder of innocent witches and muggles alike. Did you skip that lesson or something?" Jack frowned, folding his arms over his chest as he looked at the Death Eater in fornt of him.
"Even Merlin had to hide his magic from Muggles. What they dont understand, they destroy. Its just their nature. And while you may think this is all going to work out, killing never solved anything"
He was fighting a loosing battle, that much he knew. Ava was almost as obsessive as Bellatrix, and everybody knew how insane she'd become. Jack bit back a sigh and looked steadily at the death eater, wondering if there was any hope for a woman like her

She laughed. Ava, fail a class? No, that wasn't how she was. "No, Jack, I passed History of Magic with flying colors," she replied, her voice even and her face in a smirk. "I know the history of magic and muggles... but you see, that's just history. Have we not progressed since then? Surely muggles are somewhat smart enough to know that we are true and good and natural and that we dominant." Yes, history.. that was the key word.
"And again... if they're not, then they aren't fit to be around anyways, don't you agree?" Ava eyed him, gauging his reaction. She knew that he disagreed, that he was going to have an argument back for everything that she said. That was the confusing part. Ava, like all of the other Death Eaters, couldn't comprehend why a man so against what the Death Eaters stood for was fighting alongside them. Albeit, he wasn't Marked and he wasn't out battling the so-called Order of the Phoenix, but he was helping her Lord.
She thought he was a blatant hypocrite, and that was that.

Jack, as if he had read her mind, simply laughed. "You dont understand my motives so you question what I do. Its simple enough. I'm in this for what I can get out of it. Although I dont believe in killing people without a reason, I believe in justice." He said, his tone light and casual, as if he'd had this conversation before. Which was partically true. Except he had more respect for Voldemort, Lucius Malfoy and Sever Snape, than he ever would have for this woman before him.
"We all aim to better ourselves. Get stronger, faster, smarter. Im here for me, because if I didnt look out for number one, nobody else would. And crazy as this might sound, I'm not keen on dying anytime soon. Self preservation and all that." The man said, his dark eyes lingering on Avas face for some sign of a reaction to his words, all th while keepin his own face as neautral as possible. She irritated him, to be blunt. She asked alot of awkward questions. Ones that only Snape and Voldemort bothered to ask of him

Her face stayed in a smirk, almost sneering at him. She didn't care that he laughed, she knew what she believed in. She knew what she saw.
At least he was smart enough to know where the power lay, where the truth was, which side would eventually win. He was a Seer, so he knew something. Something good.
This reassured Ava. "Good," she said, her tone firm and still a bit mocking. She had gotten her answer, though, even if indirectly. She stood up and walked to the wall next to the door. "It's about time you admit something for once."

Jack knew it was what she wanted to hear, and it had bene the same thing he'd fed to everybody else who asked. After all, what good loyal idiot to the Dark Lord did not desire power? In fact, what dd any person desire? Those who dont have any suck up to those who do, and those with power only want more. Jack rolled his eyes. "Admited? You make it sounds like a crime" He said, his tone practically laced with sarcasm. He had a bored look about him. Here he was wanting some intelligent conversation and he was lumbered with her, who just seemed to be digging around where she wasnt wanted.
"Dont think I'll be fighting alongside you for 'the greater good'. I'll be doing the smart thing and keeping my nose clean"

She raised her eyebrows. "No, Jack, not a crime. You obviously have something to gain from my Dark Lord, and you obviously know that the greater good is in fact greater. Knowing the truth, fighting for the truth, that is not a crime. As long as you believe in what you're fighting for, that is." Ava's eyes darkened.
His admittance about fighting surprised her. "Oh? And why not? Little Jacky boy scared of fighting alongside us big bad Death Eaters?" Her tone was stuffed with sarcasm and a mocking tone. "Or is it just that he's too good? Too... smart, you say." She looked around the room and leaned up against the wall.
"It'd be a shame to have to fight alongside you, if you're going to be so cowardly and call it smart. If you really want to keep your nose clean, I suggest you open your eyes and see that we will never let your nose get dirty, if you're with us." Ava was certain Jack got the metaphor; he was a smart man, he was just silly. And, apparently, a coward.

"I'm keeping my options open" Jack said, as if that would be the answer to all that she had just said. Coward? Well, she may say so. But he had already seen the crap Lucius Malfoy had to deal with last time. And the Ministry of Magic was a very difficult bunch to bribe. Threats were probably more powerful, but then again Jack had more to offer than gold and silver. It seemed people valued the knowledge of the future mre than they did present riches. He smirked to himself.
"If I fought, then the Ministry would know the Dark Lord had a Seer on his team. They'd prepare for that and I could almost garantee I'd be dead within a month. The Department of Myseries has such a vast collection of prophasies, is so they can track what visions we have and who we share them with. And that's why I never registered my occupation as Seer. I'm a nobody to the Ministry, so no tracking"
He tilted his head slightly to one side thoughtfully. "When it is time, I will fight." But for which side, I dont know yet

Ava smirked. "No tracking. You're a sneaky one, aren't you, Jack?" She moved closer to the door, her eyes watching him. She wondered what it was like to be a Seer. At least he showed some disregard for the silly Ministry.
She lingered in the doorway for a moment, eyes still on him. "Whatever you feel you believe in, Jack, that doesn't change how I see you. You're still a coward. Just remember that there is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it." Her eyes were cold and dark.
With that sentence, she left him to himself, alone in the room with the piano. That should give him plenty to think about.
