Ryan stood tall and listened intently to what Avatra was saying. So basically he had to convince Yazuri to kill off her mother? That shouldn't be too hard. He knew Yazuri, they were decent friends. Ryan could woo her, then convince her to kill off her mother. She was easily impressionable, he thought.
"Fine, I'll do it," he said, smirking at the fact that Avatra needed him already, as if she couldn't do it on her own. He knew she couldn't; there was no way that a woman like Avatra would be allowed inside Hogwarts.
Ryan had his first assignment.
The Cruciatus came at him so unexpectedly that he didn't have time to block it. He writhed and screamed in pain, and when it was over he stood up quickly, breathing heavy. Ryan knew that he had to learn to duel better, to prepare for spells, to block and attack. He did well in Hogwarts in DADA, but actually doing things in the real world was different.
So Ryan took the Curse and stood up, panting, and glaring back at Avatra. He didn't care what was right, what was wrong, who he should and shouldn't curse. "Crucio!" he yelled, the light streaming out of his wand and hitting Avatra.

Avatra expected the recoil, her protego absorbed the pain long enough for her to smirk at Ryan "Good boy", she muttered before it was ate away and Avatra crumpled to the ground, she didn't scream, she was taught not to. Screaming only made it worse.
He lingered with the spell on her, as if he was trying to punish her, he liked his control too much Avatra had figured, specailly if she preferred the control herself. When he let the curse go, she didn't stop to recooperate, hesitation meant death, she barely twitched her wand as the silent spell went through her head, and in an instant Ryan's wand was in her other hand. She stood straightening, and tossed his wand lightly back to him. "In other circumstances, it would be best not to wait for you opponent to regain compusure... or consciousness, but for the sake of both of us walking out of here with all of our body parts..." she paused, his magic was already strong, but he gave her too much of a chance, she knew that if she was someone he hadn't have known someone he was actually suposed to kill he wouldn't have been more leniant.
She sat on the bed, her anger didn't come as quickly as Ryan's did, the Crucio could do that someone though, especailly those not used to it, "Keep your temper in check", she said sharply. "I will not put up with it", of course unless it involved her going back up against the wall, she doubted she mind that again.

Ryan was impressed that she hadn't screamed. The only way he could tell that she was feeling anything painful was her facial expression; what was previously a pretty face was now contorted in agony. She looked like a troll.
He listened to her advice, taking notes and paying attention to what she said. It all made sense to him once she gave him instructions.
"You're technically not my opponent, though you look like a troll when you're in pain," he replied smugly. "But I will use that tactic next time."
Ryan wasn't afraid of Avatra. He knew now that she wouldn't hurt him, just help him. Maybe put him through a few rounds of Crucios, maybe an Imperius. Nothing worse.
He knew that his biggest weakness was his anger. He had to learn how to keep it in check, or at least funnel it in a different manner.

"A troll?" Avatra's eyebrows shot up, "didn't realize this was a who looks better being tortured contest", she laughed slightly, although that would be an interesting thing indeed, it sounded as ridiculous as those muggle reality shows, Not that Avatra had ever watched them.
"See that you do", she said simply with a shrug, "Now.." she stood her body went curvy again, not rigid that the crucio had left her as, she stayed in close proximity to Ryan. "Now my pet... what's next" she moved closer to him, her eyes stayed locked on his. "Going to punish me some more?" she pouted biting her bottom lip.

Ryan watched her, a sly grin on his face, enjoying the little bit of banter between them. He was comfortable with her, but he had no qualms about dueling her.
"You'd like that, wouldn't you?" he smirked and backed away from her. He personally wasn't in the mood for her games or her rather playful for lack of a better term spirits. Now he was a student, and she was his teacher. Ryan wanted to learn.
He turned around and looked out the window. "I suppose I should practice my Imperius too, eh?" he suggested.

Avatra shrugged, "soot yourself", she didn't answer his question, in the literal sense. Her eyes followed him across the room, judging his mood and reactions, she had quite some time to study people usually, and could tell certain things about them, guess rather, without even knowing their mind.
She should have figured men had one track minds, and she had already distracted him with a different subject. "Oh well", she told herself, she could find someone else to play with later. "You suppose?" she asked. "You.." the words were annoying to say the least, when did Ryan take charge of his own lessons. "Imperius is for those that cannot convince people what they want to do otherwise, peoples minds are easy enough to twist, Imperius is weakness in its truest form, but if you suppose you should be practicing it" She folded her arms across her chest, she was ready for the curse in every way and she promised that it wouldn't last long. She had held back in front of him before letting him try out his little tricks, now it was time to show him just how powerful his teacher he seemed not to need anymore actually was. "Well", she said shortly, "What are you waiting for?"

Ryan grinned. She was bitchy, and that's exactly what he had in mind. He wasn't a stupid boy, and he didn't have intentions of overruling her lessons. No, Ryan would never do that. He respected Avatra; she was his mentor.
"It doesn't have to be weak, it can be useful... the Dark Lord himself has used it, and no disrespect to you, but I don't view him as weak in the least... but practice makes perfect."
Ryan grinned at her and turned his wand to the window facing the front of the inn they were in. He shouted "Imperio!" and an invisible strand shot out and to the wizard in front of him. The wizard dropped the stack of books in his hand and turned around. He headed towards the tavern. A minute later, Ryan and Avatra could here someone walking up the steps, and then the door opened. There the wizard stood, stupid and under the Imperius.
Ryan made the wizard smile. "Play with me!" he said, under Ryan's command.

One of her eyebrows quirked, not exactly what she had been expecting. A small smile came to her face "Well.." she dropped her arms from her "Your not exactly my type she surveyed the man walking around behind him, but you can have him", she sat pulled herself onto the dresser and crossed her legs.
"He's your new pet, lets see his tricks".

Ryan nodded, glad that she was impressed. He took the Imperius off the man, who looked around. "What the -?"
Before the man could finish his sentence, Ryan shot a Crucio his way. The man writhed in pain, screaming. He kept it there for a few minutes, and then took it off. The man fell to the floor, breathing heavy, shaking.
"What's your name?" Ryan sneered. The man only moaned in response.
Ryan disarmed him, then yelled "Crucio!" again. The man screamed again, unable to stand the agony that was the Cruciatus curse.
When Ryan lifted the spell, the man was quiet, his breathing the only sound in the room. Ryan turned to Avatra.
"That was fun. What can I learn next?"

"Impressive", she shrugged, she doubted the man had seen her when he was let off the curse. She hopped down from the dresser. What else could he learn, well lots. She pulled her wand muttering a healing charm. "There there", she cooed flattening the man's hair, its alright.
"Whats your name love?" she looked at him with careful eyes, she held no malice on her face, he was saying something inaudible, instead of cursing him again, instead of losing her temper and letting her frustration rise, she shushed the man lightly, "It's ok.. I know", She dropped beside him and held his head with one of her hands. "Your name?" she asked again and this time he muttered something that sounded like Marcus Fink.
"Are you married Marcus?" she asked lightely.
"No...no.." he stammered.
"Shhh calm down" she petted his head lightly. She was keeping Ryan out of his direct eyesight on purpose seeing his attacker would upset her work. "Do you have any family near by?" she asked.
"Yes.. my .. my aunt.."
Avatra frowned, well that wasn't good. "What's her name?" she spoke lightly, as if she was a concerned mother holding her child who had just scraped her knee.
"Clara... Clara Fink".
"Where does she live? I can take you to her, you'll be safe.. i'll take you home"
"Down... the lane.. last house"
"Thank you", Avatra said releasing the man, she stood walked towards the other side of the room, "Kill him", she shot over her shoulder to Ryan " Now we have loose ends to tie up" She was pulling her cloak on.

Ryan watched as Avatra got the information from the wizard. He didn't personally care about the man, who he was, what he did. He was just having fun.
He knew Avatra didn't see it that way, and that he was going to learn another lesson.
"With pleasure," Ryan said, and turned his wand towards the aching man. The last thing he heard was Ryan scream "Avada Kedavra!" and a flash of green light. Ryan had realized at the last man he killed that he enjoyed doing it. It was sick and twisted and so gratifying. He turned away from him and followed Avatra down the stairs and to the street.

"Next time you pull a random wizard off the street you should most likely do a bit of a background check, what if that was one of our people, what if he was someone we were trying to win over, think before you do things", she hadn't recognized the man or his name. "Now I have another victim for you as well, since you insisted on dragging him in".
They walked down the lane and she stopped at a ridiculous looking pink and white victorian house. Whoever this Clara Fink was had no account for taste. She looked to Ryan.
"Well.." what did he need some sort of instruction, "This is your mess go clean it up", she read the letters off the mailbox, F I N K definitely the right place. The lights were on inside, she figured that was a good sign the woman was home.
"Do whatever you will with her, just don't leave anything incriminating.." she leaned against the fence clearly not coming in with him. Why should she bother putting herself into danger.

Trailing behind her, Ryan rolled his eyes. He wasn't stupid; of course, he had picked the wizard at random, but he had trusted his instincts and felt that the man was just a random guy.
"Must be mudblood," he muttered, looking at the decorations. His mum would have never allowed her home to look like that; no pureblood witch he knew would.
Ryan entered the home easily; the door wasn't even locked. He walked in and found the woman cooking supper in her kitchen. She was old and graying, but couldn't be older than 47. Of course, the man he had picked looked to be in his early thirties if that, so it seemed likely that she would be his aunt.
"Locomortis," he muttered, and the woman's legs locked up. She fell backward and screamed when she saw Ryan, his wand in front of him, bringing her death. He grinned at her, evil, and levitated her. He slammed her up against her wall, and then used the Cruciatus on her. She screamed for what seemed like hours. After a few minutes of torture, the screams died down, and finally her body went limp. He kneeled next to her and checked her pulse; it was gone. "Good," he thought, and walked outside.
"All's well that ends well," he told her, pleased with himself.

"Whatever", Avatra said bored from have been kept waiting. She looked at the sky, it was getting darker and darker, that meaned it was crossing into what would be considered the witching hour or midnight, after that it was all dark.
"I'm going to get a drink", she pulled her hood over her head, it contrasted her modern clothes strangely, but that was Avatra, "You coming?" She set off walking without seeing if he was behind her or not, "Lesson is over for today by the way", she called back and walked towards her favorite bar, and also where she had been staying for a week or so now. So at least when she was totally trashed she could just crawl up the stairs.
When she entered she didn't look back for Ryan he could have gone home for all she knew, but she sat down at the bar, "usual", she winked at the bartender, "And keep them coming".

Ryan was a bit peeved that Avatra seemed so mad at him, but he guessed she had a reason. He had just picked a random person off the street without knowing anything about him, but did an innocent really matter? Not to Ryan... he could tell by his scrubby clothes that he had nothing to do with either his Dark Lord or with the Ministry of Magic. Ryan wasn't stupid, but he would let Avatra think he was so she would think her "point was made."
He shrugged when she started to walk off. "No, I've got other places to see, I'll see you around." Ryan wasn't sure if she had heard him, but didn't really care. He went the opposite direction and headed for his house. He couldn't wait for the school year to start, and for his mission with Yazuri Mao to begin.
