When Alexa was up against the wall with the group of boys taunting her, surrounding her, one almost pinning her, she knew that she was done for. She was much smaller than any of them and though she was normally fiesty, her fear, her lack of a wand, and being outnumbered had made her feel completely helpless. If it was one guy, she could have kicked him away and ran back to the dungeons for her wand... but six? She didn't stand a chance.
Suddenly the large guy nearly pinning her was flying across the room. Alexa watched as his body slammed against the far wall of the Entrance Hall and she closed her eyes with the sound of the slam. When she looked over and saw Landon continue to attack the other boys tormenting her. Her eyes were wide with shock and her stomach lurched as she saw Landon get hit, flecks of blood dripping from his lip, his face looking red and puffy from other punches.
She sank down against the wall as the six boys ran away, not wanting to deal with Landon anymore, afraid of what he would do to them if they continued to fight back. They probably figured that Alexa wasn't worth the fight.
Alexa was breathing hard, still in shock, when Landon turned to her with her wand in his hand. His lip was bleeding, if only just a little, and his eye looked red and puffy from where one of the guys had punched him. She felt confused. If he was so mean to her, why did he save her from guys in his own house? And why did he even bother to bring her back her wand?
"Yeah.... Thanks," she said, uncertain of what to say and avoiding eye contact. "And thanks for... that... too."

"Ya", he never really wanted thanks, she shouldn't have to thank him things like that happen. She shouldn't have to carry her wand at all times to defend from his housemates, they had better hope he doesn't see any of them in the common room. He'd kill them.. or something.
"Are you alright?" he inspected her from a distance looking gueniuly concerned she seemed unharmed, probably just shaken. He wanted to reach out for her to assure her in some way, but he thought that would be strange, besides she just had guys trying to paw at her, so she probably wouldn't appreciate the attempt he wiped the blood away once more.
"I would apologize for my housemates, but I dont think theres an excuse for their behaivor", he said stiffly. Honestly they were lucky Alexa was there, because if she hadn't been aware or something Landon would not have let them run so easily. "I'll walk you back to your common room", he assumed thats where she was headed when she had left", he put more of a question on it then a demand. He realized he could be a bit short and forceful. "And im sorry for earlier", he added in quickly.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she said, rubbing her biceps. "Just a little shaken up.... I never expected any of that." It was true. She had never heard of a bunch of guys ganging up on a wandless girl in Hogwarts before.... it was simply unheard of. But she guessed things weren't what they used to be anymore, and she needed to be more careful.
She lifted her eyes to watch him, to judge how he looked when he spoke. He seemed sincere, but Alexa couldn't bring herself to fully trust him to be nice to her, even after he had just saved her from whatever the big guys would have done to her.
"Uhm.... sure, yeah," Alexa said, and pushed herself up off the floor and grabbed her bag. She wasn't sure if those guys would mess with her again, or where they had headed, but she figured that having Landon around wouldn't be so bad, especially since she didn't want to risk a repeat of what just happened. Even though she had her wand back now, she still was shakey.
They started walking up the stairs together in silence, but Alexa was too curious to keep her mouth shut. "Why.... were you so mean before? And then you saved me from your housemates.... it doesn't make sense." She was never the type to not ask questions she had unless she felt it was inappropriate, and she hoped he wouldn't be mean to her again for talking.

"I did say I was sorry about before", he said a bit defensively, old habits died hard with him. He didn't really have an explaination for himself, being hard and cold seemed to work for him, in most cases. He did find it quite funny that she was more upset about the fact that he didn't make sense more then that he was mean to her.
"What they were planning on doing", Landon shook his head, he looked to Alexa he figured she didn't really want to know what he had discovered with practiced occulmency. "Was not something you or anyone should have happen to them", perhaps it was his soft spot for women, he has always been protective of his mother, he and his brother both, and of course Greg was always very protective over Annie.
He sighed, "I'm not exactly a monster, and you can stop looking at me like i'm a puzzle", he glanced sideways at her. "Not everything makes sense little Ravenclaw", he might have smiled just then as they headed up the stairs. He was joking with her, a bit. Well at least he thought he was. Sometimes people interpretted him quite differently. She seemed to have her wits about her though, so she hoped he wouldn't come as offensive.... again.

Alexa was taken aback. He thought she was upset? Alexa laughed at that. "I know you apologized... I just don't understand why the sudden change of heart. Even if I appreciate it." She shrugged. They were misunderstanding each other.
Alexa had figured what they were going to do to her - or at least tried to do to her, not much they could have done in the Entrance Hall - was pretty bad, and she was glad to not have experienced it.
She smiled. "I don't think you're a monster, but you're definitely a puzzle." His smile was cute, and his tone softened with her. Alexa laughed. "Well, maybe not, but that doesn't mean I can't try to figure it out," she retorted, also in a joking manner.
The tension she had felt in her shoulders after the incident was loosening now as they climbed and climbed the many staircases to the astronomy tower. Maybe Landon wasn't such a mean guy after all.

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes, how like a Ravie, always seeing something that needed to be figured out. He had thought he had her figured out once already, but he was wrong then, so he decided not to try again.
"You seem lighter", he said simply, his way of saying he was glad she was back from being shooken up, "I doubt they'll trouble you again", of course they were Slytherins they could trouble her just for the fact that they didn't get to do it the first time, "All the same i'd the wand with you from now on", he was teasing again. "I suppose they should be lucky you didn't have it though", he wasn't stupid he had been in plenty of classes with her. She was probably just as dangerous with that thing as she was smart.
Annoyingly enough though the Ravenclaw had to be at the top tower, halfway up, steps were beginning to get annoying, "How in the hell do you climb all these steps every day", he asked annoyance flaring, at the steps mostly.

Alexa smiled. She felt lighter, she was feeling much better. "Well, I don't plan on forgetting my wand anymore," she said, laughing at the compliment. Alexa was pretty good with her wand, one of the best witches in her year. "If I do forget the wand, you have to promise to save the day with your fists of fury, though," she joked. She was starting to feel more comfortable with him. This wasn't shy, small talk anymore, and Alexa was more comfortable.
She shrugged. The amount of stairs bothered her the first few weeks, but mostly she didn't mind it. "Once you walk them enough, it's no big deal," she said. They were almost there anyways, it was only six floors up from the bottom floor. "Besides, I don't always go straight to the top floor from the dungeons or the Entrance Hall. There are some classrooms, a library, and a bathroom in the middle somewhere," she teased.

"Fists of fury?" he looked doubtful, "Besides his fist felt a bit more furious then mind", he rubbed his sore cheek. He would have a lovely battle scar tomorrow he was sure of that and his bloody lip would be nothing more then a cut. "No I think next time you'll do the saving, I dont fancy a broken jaw". Did he just crack a few jokes?
"I dont usually have cause to go this far up", coures he had made the climb a few times going to classes or to pull pranks on whichever quidditch team they were facing. Had to show house pride of course. As they reached the entrance to the common room Landon shifted a bit at the landing.
"Well I think you can take it from here and now I have to climb back down everest", he wasn't sure what to do "So I guess see you around then".

She shook her head, rolling her eyes at his humor. Landon really was funny. Alexa thought she could get used to his jokes. "All right, all right, next time I'll make sure to have my wand and kick some Slytherin culo." Alexa didn't like to swear, and when she did it was always in Spanish. It was a natural habit for her.
"Oh, sorry. That's arse in Spanish... my dad lives in Spain," she explained quickly.
When they got to the landing, she noticed him fidgeting a little bit. Was Landon really nervous? That didn't seem like him, but then again he was a puzzling piece of surprises. "Have fun climbing back down, I promise it's easier than climbing up," she teased him, laughing. "I'm sure I'll see you around."
Alexa headed toward the painting on the entrance of the Ravenclaw common room, smiling and thinking that maybe not all Slytherins were as bad as she thought. After all, both Demitri and Landon surprised her.
