The young Slytherin boy entered the Leaky Cauldron. It had been raining outside, so his shaggy dark hair stuck to his wet face. He tousled his hair lightly as he approached the farthest, most deserted seat at the bar and asked for a double firewhiskey. Tom, the bartender, eyed him suspiciously. He looked young, of course... but so did a lot of people these days. Besides, Tom wasn't the questioning type.
Upon receiving his drink, Ryan put a sickle on the counter. Tom took it and walked towards the other end of the bar, towards a group of three witches. One of them glanced at Ryan once or twice, but mostly ignored him. They were old.
Ryan was frustrated, to be quite honest. He had turned 17, the legal age for witches and wizards, the past December. He had been told that he would be able to begin his induction as a Death Eater. His sister, Ava, had been with the Death Eaters for a few years; Ryan was jealous. However, for some reason, he wasn't allowed to join up. Ava told him that; he thought it was bull, that she didn't want him to join for some reason. Though he had been given an "assignment" of sorts, it was basic, boring, and wouldn't be likely to result in the pleasure of his Dark Lord. Yes, Ryan considered Tom Riddle his Dark Lord. He was loyal already, even before he was Marked. Why shouldn't he be allowed?
Ryan didn't want to vent, however. No, that would get him nowhere. Instead, he would mull it over a drink. A heavy drink, at that.

Avatra was already there she poured her attention over some poor ministry worker. Not like he had anything useful stored in his brainless head, but he was there and he was easy. Then in came trouble. She bit her bottom lip and tried to supress a laugh as he walked to the edge of the bar.
Vogel's little brother and one of Voldemort's new pets in Hogwarts how fun.
"Sorry love", her attention diverted back to the man and her eyes flashed a dangerous glance. Something of a predator about to devour its prey. "I have someone I need to chat with", a simple smile graced her face.
She moved from her place in the dark corner to the bar. She slipped into the seat next to the young man, and cocked her head slightly as Tom suddenly appeared with a drink for her. She sent him a smile and he nodded back to her. It was always good to have friends. She was listening for the boy's thoughts, apparently Ava had taught him something. Mental barriers and she didn't want to hurt the poor man, much.
"Isn't it past your bedtime?" She arched a brown and glanced in his direction.

Ryan turned his head as he heard her approach, but only slightly. Naturally. His face turned to a smirk at her comment.
"You're ridiculous," he said simply, not giving her any information. He knew what a skilled Legillimans Avatra Faitell was, and he wasn't going to give her anything. Body language was not a problem; he was always reserved, by habit.
"Shouldn't you be taking him in the alley next to the bar by now?" he nodded towards the Ministry worker who was eying Ryan and Avatra with jealous eyes. Yes, you could have had her, he thought to the poor, balding man. Or more like, she would have had you. Of course, he couldn't hear her, but he made a habit of thinking what he could say to strangers.
"What brings you to that seat, Avatra?" he asked, his tone cool, smooth, and apathetic.

Avatra smiled at the comment. It was no secret what she was. "An alley next to a bar?" she nearly laughed at the thought. Wonderful thing about ministry members is they had money. Lots of money and the means to spend it.
"You have quite the imagination... but please if i wanted to know your fantasies I would have looked by now", she reminded him with a light smile, she took a sip of her drink. Good boy, he fit the deatheater type perfectly, smooth unmoving.
"Its dark all the bad things come out soon, maybe I just came to look after my employer's interests" her lips twitched into a smile and she blinked innocently. "What would big sister say if she knew where you were, the kind of company your keeping".
"So young..." she drawled, she peered into his face, "Then again... not that young, is that what has you moping in a dark bar?" her eyes narrowed as she pried just a bit farther a smile came to her face as she was blocked again. "Talented, in more ways then one i'm sure".

Ryan chuckled lowly. As if he could penetrate his mind... he may not be intensely skilled, but he unless she was prepared to use a curse on him, he was guarded enough. The thing was with girls like Avatra was that they were all words. That's how they got you... seduction by words. He knew that Avatra wasn't serious in the least bit.
He eyed her carefully. "Looks as though the dark, bad things are already out," he volleyed back. Oh, Ryan was keen, witty, sarcastic. He could take and serve a comment, and enjoyed giving back double helpings.
"Ava doesn't run my life. What she says has no affect on whether I decide to go for a drink at a bar. My business... and whoever said I was moping? Perhaps I just prefer to be alone." It was true, after all. Ryan was more of a loner at Hogwarts; sure he had his few friends, but preferred to work and be alone most of the time. It was how he operated best. People just got in the way.

Avatra smiled as he shot back a comment. She was quite liking this conversation. Of course she wasn't about to break his barriers completely it wasn't her fault her mind always liked to probe plus if he was unguarded the dirty thoughts that would be running through his mind right now, from hers, she almost wanted to see the look on his face. She if he could keep his cool demeaner when unspeakable things were being done to him. It was almost worth dropping her barriers completely just in case he decided to look.
"Oh of course she doesn't, your just a good little pet", she mused "The way you looked as you walked in, you can keep it out of the way you hold yourself now, but you were plenty moppy walking in love", she tilted her head sideways letting her hair fall down over her shoulder slightly.
"Alone?" she quirked a brow, "Surely you can't prefer to be alone all the time theres some things that just aren't very fun alone i'm afraid", she bit her bottom lip and then released it. The things she could do to him....

Ryan suppressed his laugh this time. Avatra was trying to seduce him, and naturally it was obvious. He thought it was funny, yet charming. A little. He peered into her mind a little, not seeing anything, so he stepped out. Of course she would have barriers up. How boring.
"Being alone doesn't have to be lonely... and nobody ever said I was alone constantly." Ryan decided to ignore the comment about how he had walked into the bar. Moppy in love? Hardly. Ryan didn't believe in love. It didn't get you anywhere... he too would rather have flings. Sex was better than love... and perhaps power was the best of all. The Death Eaters were powerful; that was one of many reasons he was drawn to join their ranks. Many reasons.

Smoother then she thought, that irked her, any other horny teenager would have jumped her by now. He was.. a challenge. Time to have a little fun. She pushed some of her more colorful thoughts beyond her barriers of course there were secrets that only the dark lord would ever have access to that were always concealed, but she didn't see any harm in letting him see some.
She said nothing just looked forward sipping his drink. Not alone constantly she mused with that sentence in her head, wondering just how many poor slytherins rose to the same challenge she was, or maybe he was the type that went for the poor hufflepuff a few sweet words and they were his. Or was he all talk. She smiled to herself. This game was getting more and more interesting.
It was always good for Avatra to have friends, powerful or a young recruit you never know who might rise in the ranks and this one had potential.

With that intent look on her face, Ryan knew something was up. Dare he enter her mind again? What would lie in her sinister, smutty thoughts? Of course, he was curious... what man wouldn't be? So he risked it.
He was impressed with what he saw... of course it was the two of them, together, in interesting ways. To be honest, he wasn't unhappy with what he saw. It aroused him, not visibly, of course he could control himself that way, but it was interesting.
His self-control, however, was beginning to falter as her smile grew and her thoughts grew dirtier, so he exited her mind. "That was interesting," he said, smiling. "To say the least, of course."

"What was interesting?" her face feigned innocense, looking at him as if she was suddenly extremely confused. She turned her head back towards her drinking with a smirk.
The fact that he even dared means Avatra had gained an inch, curiousity, she loved it. Her barriers reactivated just in case he got really curious. Pushing your mind on others was a very useful tool, but only on the week minded and Avatra never underestimated her opponent unless she was sure.
"How short is that leash your kept on exactly?" She looked up at him through her eyelashes. She reached up and traced her nails lightly along his neck, "Well I don't see a collar", she brought her hand back to her drink.

Ryan moved his head away smoothly as she ran her nails along his neck. Silly, smutty woman. She was good, that was true. Coy, sexy, playing innocence they both knew she never really had. It was easy to see how she got her way with men.... anyone weaker than Ryan would have given in long ago.
"What leash are you talking about? And why does it matter anyways?" Ryan knew it was dangerous to let her know that he was curious... but if he kept his mind on guard, then did it really matter what he let go? He was a careful, quiet type who kept to himself... but to turn this down was almost a sin.
No, he reminded himself. Be strong.

She starred at him seriously for a moment, her eyes not leaving his. "Your seventeen", she stated simply. Avatra was already well on way to becoming a very useful tool for Voldemort at his age.
"I simply figured something must have been stopping you", she bit her lip, "Nevermind", she shrugged off the subject. She returned to her drink, it was nearly empty and yet the effects hadn't even begun to hit her.
She let the subject dangle in the air for a bit before she spoke, "I didn't take you for the type to wait around for permission, I more thought, they type that knows what he wants and takes it without regards for what others may feel", she shrugged lightly.
She looked at him once again scrutinizing him, then shrugged, "perhaps I was mistaken".

He was quiet for awhile, allowing her words to sink in, allowing her to stare at him in wait for a reply. He took a swig or two of his firewhiskey and turned to smile at her. "Or, Avatra, perhaps I don't want you."
His words might have stung her, but he didn't care. It wasn't entirely true -- of course she was beautiful, sexy, willing, and right there, and it would only be a few swift moves before he was ready -- but Ryan knew the dangers of allowing himself to become vulnerable to someone like her. Avatra had a reputation for domination, and while that sounded deliciously refreshing compared to his usual escapades, right now wasn't the right time. Not when he had to focus on becoming a Death Eater. Of course, if he had been born a female, it would have worked easier, but he didn't mind fighting for his right. But for now he must protect his mind.
"Perhaps... eventually," he winked at her, knowing that she'd probably take it as fluff.

"Why does everyone always assume i'm talking about myself", she pressed her fingers to his forarm where the dark mark will be, where it should be.
"Just because I can't see into your head doesn't mean I can't see whats in plain sight, whats not, and what should be. She pulled her sleave slightly and rested her arm on the bar. The Dark Mark was completely visable. She let it sit for a second letting the snake slither in and out of the skull, before pulling her sleave back down.
She stood with a coy smile. "and pity about the other part, but as regards to what you really want" she bent down and brought her lips close to his ear, "Whats stopping you". she whispered.
She stepped around him leaving her fingers to trail across his back as she headed upstairs to one of the empty rooms that Tom let her frequent. She didn't actually have a home so she populated whichever local place she felt like. Tonight it was Tom's.

His eyes followed her, and his thoughts did as well. Why did everyone think she was always talking about herself? That was obvious. Did she not realize how... forward she was? Really, that can't be an act.
Her Dark Mark had been wonderful to see, but it only made him jealous. Why couldn't he have is? Ava had to have been lying... perhaps there was another way. He finished off his firewhiskey and stared at the stairs, debating whether or not to follow.
What was stopping him from getting what he wanted? Ava? He was an adult now, he didn't have to follow orders from his sister. The Dark Lord was his Lord, even if Ryan wasn't Marked yet. Yet. He would be, yes that was true.
Ryan abandoned his seat and walked up the stairs, avoiding the curious glances of other women and jealous stares of other men. This wasn't about that, at least not to Ryan.
There was a door open at the end of the hallway, just slightly, and Ryan knew that is where Avatra was. He opened the door and saw her sitting there, obviously waiting for him. "I want answers," he demanded.
