Name: Harry James Potter
D.O.B./Age: 31st July / 17 years old
Year: Seventh
House: Gryffindor
Bloodline: Halfblood
Family History:
Harry was born 1980 in Godric's Hollow to James and Lily Potter. The family lived happily for one year, and Harry being born into a magical family, was encouraged magically. However 31st October 1981, Voldemort went to the home of the young family. James was killed as he fought the Dark Lord to protect his wife and child. Lily ran to Harry's room. She begged to spare her son's life. Voldemort killed her before turning his wand upon the child.
The killing curse was somehow reversed and the Dark Lord, who had terrorised Britain for several years, was vanquished.
Harry was sent to live for a decade with his Aunt and Uncle, Muggles who had a serious fear of magic. Trying to stamp it out of the boy, they made his life a living hell. Many strange insidents occured around 'that Potter boy', but instead of trying to understand, the family rejected and punished Harry.
Finally, reaching his eleventh birthday, Harry was sent a letter invitation to attend Hogwarts School. Unfortunately he did not recieve this letter until a giant named Hagrid came to take him from the family who had abused Harry for a decade. Being taken by the strange giant, Harry soon learnt some of the secrets of the Wizarding world. Going to London, he was shown Diagon Alley and there took his first step into the magical world. Hagrid bought him Hedwig, a white snowy owl as a birthday present, and helped Harry buy his supplies for school.
The boy went to Hogwarts, learnt of his hazy past and of an entirely new world. His first year was one of bizarre new discoveries. His inquisitve nature got him into all sorts of trouble and his name was known everywhere he went. He made friends and enemies very quickly. Namely he met [for the second time] his future rival Draco Malfoy, a spoilt boy who Harry disliked from their first meeting onwards. Their automatic rivalry posed to be an inconveniance, as Draco sought as many ways to get Harry thrown out of the magical school as possible. The year went on and eventually Potter learned of a plot to steal the Philosophers Stone. Believing it to be Snape, he went with Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley to foil Severus' plan. However they were proved wrong as it was Quirrel who was the deciever.
Facing Voldemort for the first time since he was a child, Harry challenged the man who killed his parents by turning down the offer of a partnership - After all, who would want to help the man who murdered your own family? Again Potter vanquished the Dark Lord, defering his rise to power once again.
The second year Harry met a similar end to the year after struggling with rumours of his heritage being linked to Salazar Slytherin. He learned many things about hismelf, finding that his ability to understand snakes was down to a connection between himself and Voldmeort, who was a parseltongue. The young man challenged a living memory of Tom Riddle, killed a Basilisk and saved Ginny Weasley. Oh, and obliterated a teachers memory.
His third year involved many secrets from his past coming to light. The year was the year Sirius Black escaped Azkaban prison, and the Ministry of Magic stated he was a murdering sociopath. Many expected him to kill Harry Potter, and so he was protected by being asked not to leave Hogwarts for his own safety. Naturally, Harry disobeyed, thanks to the Mauraders Map and his Invisibility cloak.
Eventually the true betrayer of his parents was discovered and Harry gained a Godfather he never knew existed. Potter screwed around with time and saved two lives in a night, but unfortunately Wormtail got away and returned to Voldmeort, who was still at this time a shadow of an existance.
Harry's fourth year was a challenging one; the boy was faced with magical trials he could not escape due to magical contract and faced danger throught the entire year as well as tensions between friends and foes. He also had the traumatic task of asking a girl out on a date and failing miserably at keeping her through said date. However he overcame trials with a dragon, merpeople and a maze full of beasts and logical puzzles.
The Gryffindor witnessed the rebirth of Voldemort, being used to create the potion in the first place. Harry fought the newly risen Dark Lord and escaped the with slain body of Cedric Diggory, a fellow student. Troubled and afraid, Harry told the events to Sirius and Dumbledore, who set to work trying to gain old allies in what they guessed would be the second great war of their age.
Since then, Harry has been battling with the media and Ministry of magic, who claim he and Dumbledore were liars. Potter faced critism from most, save a few who were loyal to him and Dumbledore.
His fifth year at Hogwarts was a living hell, and for the first time since starting the school, Harry wished he was back in Surrey with his Muggle family. The Gryffindor started to take his education into his own hands, teaching and learning to fight properly incase Death Eaters finally decided to attack the school. He endured Dolores Umbridge and the jibes from fellow students as well as the threat of losing the few people who understood him. Dumbledore, Hargid, Lupin, Sirius.
After a mindtrick from Voldemort, who had discovered the bond between their two minds, Harry broke into the Ministry of Magic to save Sirius Black, however was decieved. Fighting Voldemort yet again, Harry performed his first Unforgivable on Bellatrix Lestrange who killed his Godfather in a fight in the Department of Mysteries.
Since Voldmeort was sighted by the Minister of Magic, Harry has been given better publicity in the media. Still he had a hard time at Hogwarts. Dumbledore insisted that finally it was time for Harry to start working against the Dark Lord. Hunting down Horcruxes, they started to think about the final fight. Harry knew now that he would either kill or be killed. He didn't like the latter option.
In his latest school year, Harry watched as Dumbeldore was killed by Severus Snape, after Draco Malfoy had let Death Eaters into Hogwarts. Fighting furiously, Harry was unable to save the old man nor catch Severus. Furious and scared, the Gryffindor grieved the death of Albus and wondered how he would save the world now...
Other Family Members and Pets:
Mother, Lily, deceased
Father, James, deceased
Aunt, Pertunia, Muggle, Surrey
Uncle, Vernon, Muggle, Surrey
Cousin, Dudley, Muggle, Surrey
Hedwig, pet owl, with Harry
Physical Description: Like so many people who knew James before he died, Harry is the spitting image of his father; jet black hair that will not be tamed, light tanned complexion.. Being a seeker for the Quidditch team for six years of his life, Harry has grown slightly more muscular but still remains the slim man he always was. His hip bones are jaunty but nobody can deny that Harry Potter is attractive. His lightly tanned skin would be flawless were it not for the numerous scars he had, with particular emphasis on the lightning bolt scar on his forehead, which is somewhat legendary. Ever since his fifth year, Harry has also had a self-inflicted scar: "I must not tell lies" permanently etched on the back of his right hand. He's a little shorter than the other boy's in his year, but only by a couple of inches. He's very slender, but this gives him the advantage of quick reflexes, speed and agility. The young man had emerald green eyes, like his mother, Lily, and wears round glasses because of his poor vision (another attribute of his father)
He's right handed, and when it comes to dancing, thinks he has two left feet.
Style Harry generally wears what he likes. He doesn't class himself as having any particular style, but he does know what to wear for most occasions. He's usually pretty casual with a pair of Muggle jeans, t-shirt and hoodie, or else wears his school robes
Personality: Being brought up with his Aunt and Uncle, he had no knowledge of the magical word until the giant Hagrid took him to Hogwarts. There he leaned he was the most famous boy in the world, for reasons he could not explain. He expected to be terrible at magic, but he turned out pretty good at Quidditch and Defence against the Dark Arts, though he's not all that brilliant at Potions or Divination. Harry believes he has to avenge the deaths of everyone Voldemort killed in the war before, and is a very firm fighter for his friends. Theaten them, and you'll find yourself up against a very angry Harry Potter. He's very determined, but fears what might happen if he fails to kill Voldemort. Harry feels like it's his task, and his alone. Sure, he has alot of help, but like Dumbledore said; In the end, it's either murdered or murderer. Harry would prefer the latter, though doesn't know if he's magically strong enough. Though Albus always insisted Love is the strongest magic, Potter sometimes doubts this, and his doubts cause him to lose faith in himself
Favorite Classes: Defence against the Dark Arts, Charms, Transfiguration and Quidditch
Likes: Friends, Quidditch, adventure, hippogriffs and dragons, his invisibility cloak and the Marauders Map, lazing in Hogwarts grounds, full moon, bubbles baths and snow ball fights
Dislikes: Malfoy, Voldemort, Malfoy, Death Eaters Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, Draco, Potions, Malfoy, Divination, death, Slytherin colours, Slytherins in general, Snape, Draco and being lied to. And did I mention Drcao Malfoy?
Fears Death, losing people he loves, failing
Goals Kill Voldemort, become an Auror, travel, find true love, beat Slytherin in every single way possible
Hobbies Training, fighting, dueling, Quidditch
Habbits Bites his nails and running his hand though his hair
Wand 11 inches, Fawke's tail feather, holly, light
Patronus Stag
Boggart: Dementor
Roleplaying Sample:
Harry regularly came here to do this. The Room of Requirement, which gave the user whatever they needed, always gave him this. Here, where the magical room changed, Harry found himself to be perfectly content. His emerald eyes sparked for a brief moment. Every so often, they burnt white light...
Never, in all his years of life, had Harry wanted to become a murder. Not in cold blood. He was always resilient to the Dark Arts, banishing the very thought of them from his mind. He knew he would have to kill, sooner or later, but never did he think he could do it so easily. The Gryffindor was too noble to outright shout those two fatal words; Avada Kedavra was Voldemort’s curse. Not his.
The first time he went to the Room of Requirement, it was a plain room, where he could escape to. Quite spacious, so he could pace, with a comfy daybed for him to relax on and a sofa. There was music, coming from everywhere apparently. It was just what he needed to hide away in.
But as Harry returned to think, time after time, to his sanctuary, the contents of the room changed. It became larger, more open plan with mirrors along the far wall. Still the daybed and sofa remained, but the music was a little moodier. Every now and again, Harry would notice when he was angry, large targets would appear near the mirrored wall. Maybe the room was telling him something. That’s when Harry first did it. A killing curse aimed at an inanimate object seemed simple enough, and soon he felt the dark pulse of power throbbing in his fingertips as he hissed the words. He used it rarely, usually keeping to the spells and hexes and curses he’d learnt from books and classes. Harry Potter was training himself to fight.
However, soon inanimate objects were too… Simple. That’s when the Room made the most dramatic change, and although Harry was anxious, his emotions ran him like a machine. He killed a living creature, and it’s corpse lay on the stone floor before his feet. His hands trembled, violently, but eventually he came around to the thought. He acknowledged that he had murdered. Yes, it was only a toad, but it was still a living breathing animal. And he killed it…
His dark emotions ran through him, driving him like some toxic fuel in his veins. Even when he wanted, Harry found it difficult to control himself. Very rarely did he use the killing curse, but he knew now he could perform one. Whenever he did, his hands trembled and black and green dots impared his vision temperarily. The vivid acidy green burnt into his eyelids so he could not escape, even when he closed his eyes, and the black was everything. Around him, thorough him. In him. He was relentless to ever kill before, always stunning and disarming. But like any Order members had told him; ‘Now is not the time for mercy.’
How right they were, and they hardly knew the half of it.
