Bellatrix Lestrange stood, bruised, beaten, and bleeding, but before she sought any attention for herself she sought out the Dark Lord, she knew he knew she was there and she had news for him, her duel with Harry Potter might prove of use afterall. Her Dark Lord always loved news of Harry's dark side and Bellatrix had driven him to just that, it was as if she could watch the darkness consume him, what a sight that would have been, but instead she waited dutifully outside the door of the room that contained her most loved master.
Voldemort, although she would never dare speak his name, to her, he was Master, her Dark Lord, the love of her life, because of course all of her energy went into pleasing him. She had always loved him, done anything for him. Her husband was just a neccesity of position, it was her Dark Lord who really controlled her mind, body, and heart. She would have given him her soul if he asked it of her. The kind of devotion in Bellatrix Lestrange could only be thought of as love, nothing else would describe the strength, she would never faulter in her support of him.
She waited still, her legs screaming for relief, but she stood head bowed waiting for her dark lord to call her in. She didn't have the energy to speak so she would show him in her mind was she saw. What she felt within Harry Potter. She knew he was not hers to kill, but she let the boy beat her so quickly, that she was ashamed. He was good yes, but she should not have been so rash, the Dark Lord would not have been pleased. She could have seen more, done more, and implanted more ideas into his head had she lasted longer.
Bellatrix Lestrange was a deatheater in shame, but she would take her consequences, whatever her master deemed fit. She would gladly give her life if he would take it.

The Dark Lord knew that Bellatrix Lestrange, his most faithful servent, was waiting for him to call her in, but he figured that she could wait a little longer. He did not know of what news she had for him, or what condition she was in. All Voldemort knew was that Bellatrix had news for him, as she usually did when she requested to see him. The Dark Lord was very interested in the news.
While he made her wait, he stroked Nagini's long body with his right hand, thinking of the loyalty his followers gave. Bellatrix, of course, was most loyal. She would do anything for him, give up anything for Tom Marvolo Riddle Jr. He was as affectionate as one with little heart could be for another human being; he enjoyed her company and looked forward to the news she brought him, but what he felt for her could hardly be called "love." He thought love a joke, a funny game, a lie people told themselves to feel better about living. A way to convince themselves to not be alone. Lord Voldemort didn't need love to keep from being alone. He had loyal followers. Like Bellatrix.
And then there were the others - Rodolphus - Bellatrix's husband, Lucius Malfoy, Jason Caldwell, Zaine Vavaso, the Carrows, Avatra Faitell, McNair, Pettigrew. Voldemort was anything but alone; he had a band of loyal Death Eaters at his disposal. He couldn't say he had friends, but who needed friends when you had minions? No, Voldemort was very happy this way.
"Come in, Bellatrix," he finally called out for her, bored with his thoughts and seeing no real reason to keep her waiting any longer. Besides, he wanted to know what she had for him.

The door opened without her touching it, she barely raised her wand to do it. She stepped inside, more like limped, her head bowed. "My Lord", she knelt down as far as she could without falling over completely her ancient looking dress flowing around her creating the illusion of royalty almost, once upon time, she was fair and wonderous, before Azkaban broke her into, what she only considered perfection, perfection as a deatheater.
She opened her mind to him immediately showing him the memories, the fight with Harry Potter, the pain on his face as she played with his head, made him felt alone, how she never had intention of killing him, but to weaken him. The thoughts that she told him, of how his friends would die, all because of him. "I have had an altercation with Potter", she spoke his name bitterly, "I was careless, he had his opportunity to kill me, my lord, once again and failed", she kept her head bowed, not daring to look up and see his reaction. This is why Bellatrix was perfect, she took nothing for herself, and did everything for him.
"He was in knockturn alley, looking for something, I never discovered what", she spoke quickly. "He is strong, my lord", she didn't care if she said something wrong. Something that would evoke his anger, he needed to know the full truth, again she rememberred in her mind the moment where she felt his crucio the divine pain that had come from it. She felt death, but he stopped and released her from its wonderful cold grasp. Not many people could walk let alone move after a crucio such as that. "I felt his anger..." she finished and then stood quietly with her head bowed, ignoring the pained muscles in her neck. How her entire body hurt and her dry lips cracked when she spoke.

Riddle delved into her mind and listened to her speak as he saw the "altercation" as she had called it. It looked more like a duel to him. He watched the entire thing unfold, watched as Harry used the Cruciatus on her, watched as Bellatrix tore him apart mentally. She was great at mind games, great at psychologically tearing apart her victims - it was one of the reasons Voldemort prided her, kept her around, almost favored her. He watched as Bellatrix wished for death, and Harry didn't satisfy her desire, instead letting her get away.
Weak fool.
"I see," Voldemort said, his voice a mixture of anger and approval. He was angry that Bellatrix even considered a fight with Potter when every Death Eater was on strict instructions that Potter was his. He was angry that Bellatrix hadn't thought to trap him, to bring him here, so Voldemort could kill him and show the world that their precious 'Boy Who Lived' was a mere mortal wizard lacking the strength to truly defend himself or anyone else from the Dark Lord.
But at the same time, Riddle was thankful for the information she was presenting him with. Potter showed his weaknesses - his respect for life, even the lives of those who he felt deserved death such as Bellatrix, would be his ruin in the long run, Voldemort could see that now. Potter would never have the guts to use the Killing Curse on Voldemort. He could see that Potter wanted to play the hero, but could never measure up to the part. Bellatrix tortured his friend Longbottom's parents, sent them to St. Mungo's, never to recover, and he couldn't even give Bellatrix the same fate. He was weak. Voldemort was strong.
He sat in silence, watching Bellatrix's dark, crazy hair fall to hide her face as she bowed in front of him. "You.... have failed me, in one aspect, Bellatrix. You failed my wishes to make certain the Potter boy was mine and mine alone.... you failed in bringing Potter to me if you found him. You were careless. I must and will punish you for your failure, Bellatrix," he said, his tone barely scathing.
"Yet, you have succeeded much more than you failed in showing me Potter's current state of mind... his multiple weaknesses he tries to mask behind his average dueling skills.... his own personal failures. You have given me keys necessary to win this war that I would not have had you not had an 'altercation,' as you call it, with Potter.... and for these successes, I must also reward you."
Voldemort spoke slowly, but with intensity, as he considered how he would punish and reward her.

"As always my lord, I am your servent and you may do as you desire", she spoke slowly, but not quietly, she didn't brace for anything either like most deatheaters did, besides for them Bellatrix liked the wonderful surprise feeling. Her heart would quicken and she could feel alive again. Just like Potter had done, but he hadn't finished the job, he had left her... dissatisfied. For that she hated him. Potter of course was off limits, but she could take from him oh yes... she could still take from him.
"I am glad my lord is pleased at my information, but I see where I was foolish, you may take whatever you wish from me my lord", she bowed down a bit farther. Expecting nothing, but still waiting.

Voldemort smirked - his version of a smile - at her loyalty. He prided Bellatrix for her willingness to bend to his needs, his desires, to give into him and not be afraid. She was one of the only Death Eaters willing to completely give her mind to him without him asking or forcing, one of the only Death Eaters from his early days who never once renounced him for their own safety. Bellatrix was a valuable asset.
With a quick flick of his wrist, Voldemort yelled "CRUCIO!" and sent Bellatrix into a fit of pain and torture. He knew that this was both a reward and a punishment for her, for the pain hurt her terribly, but she could find pleasure, find solace in it. Tom Riddle's Cruciatus was fierce, it was furious, even when cast on his 'pet' you could call her. He knew that it would hurt her, but it would also make her happy.
He kept it up only for a minute or so, not wanting to give her too much.
"Thank you, Bellatrix. You have served your purpose." He sat back down, thinking of this useful information now. She was a good servant.

Bellatrix felt warmth spread into her body, her much loved warmth and then it was followed by pain, the woman doubled over. Her eyes open and wide, she wouldn't shut them against this, she wouldn't shut out feeling.
Then as quick as it came it was gone and she was sprawled on the cold stone before teh Dark Lord. The frown that plagued her face increaded, her breathing was heavy, "As always My Lord, I try to serve you as best I can", he said retreating from the room knowing this was a dismissal as well. She hated to go, but its what he wanted, she half crawled, until she managed her feet and limped out. Now that she was finished with her duty she had wounds to attend to, Voldemorts punishment only added, but she didn't care for at the moment she was floating.
She crossed the hall and led herself through a series of rooms to the one she tended to stay in.
