Two weeks, Jason thought. It had been two weeks since he had gotten Syrine to agree to give herself over to the Dark Lord in trade for Jack Deblanc.
His Master had been very pleased with the news. Things had been going well lately for the Dark Lord and the Death Eaters, at least aside from Ava Vogel's murder. That would be dealt with in due time, though, and Ryan Vogel would soon take her place.
He was waiting for Syrine to come to his classroom. Today was a Hogsmeade day; he had a plan for her to follow in order for the two of them to go to Riddle Manor and meet with her Dark Lord and with Jack Deblanc to settle a deal. But he would need for her to come to his classroom first, to tell of the deal... Jason didn't trust owls or letters or anything that could be found... and Jason's classroom was sound-proof so nobody could eavesdrop.
While he waited, he scanned his potions book. Monday his sixth years would show him their love potions at the end of class, but his fifth and fourth years would need a new potion each to begin working on, and he needed to pick them out.

Syrine moved quickly through the hallway keeping her head down she had talked herself out and back into this situation many times already, while waiting. She was headed for Jason's classroom, something thatnow filled her entire body with dread. She knew exactly what she was going to do already, what she had to do. Somehow the events connected. This was always what she was meant to do. She turned the handle and walked in.
"Jason", she said his name as if she had just ate something disgusting. She waited for him to speak and hoped he would do it quickly, she imagined he must be gloating quite a bit. How she now wished that werewolf she saw had ripped out his throat. Her own violent thoughts even caught herself by surprise, but she had been doing that alot lately. She closed her mind immediatly to him. If she would have to give it over to Voldemort, fine, but Jason would not be allowed that privelage.
Syrine had gone from strange and skiddish, to more open and happy, to all of a sudden a thing of spite. If anyone knew... if she could tell them. They might understand, why she scorned socailness. She didn't want to miss anything so she stayed as far away from it as possible, her brother the most. She would miss him dearly. She had already created a lie for him and her mother's benefit. There was a Divination program in America, one that could help her gain more control. She said she'd be leaving soon. She even brought all the right parchments to prove it to them. Purchased muggle transportation, afterall the girl was only sixteen she couldn't even apparate, and packed her things, of course her things were most likely going to be sent to wherever the deatheaters decided to keep her.
Before she had left her room she opened her journal and took a quill to it for the first time, she wasn't sure if Jack would even see it. She wasn't sure how it worked, but she wrote and wrote, explaining, apologizing, she wasn't sure what she was writing after awhile, but she saw the ink dissapear, so it must have at least gone through to wherever it was suposed to go. SHe had ended it with love Syrine, and she suposed in a way she did love Jack, he was the only father figure she had ever felt was concerned about her.
"Is it time?" she asked simply.

He nodded, acknowledging her but not ready to speak yet. He sat there, scanning through potions in the textbooks, for just a minute or two before looking up.
"Yes, it's time." Jason stood up and the door closed behind Syrine. Not to frighten or hurt her, but to keep eavesdroppers from listening in.
"I trust you've made arrangements so that people will not suspect you missing. Very smart girl, smarter than I expected. That's a good trait to have. My Lord will be pleased that He does not need to cover you up, or that I will not be suspected of anything." He didn't feel like arguing with her today. Honestly, Jason was sick of Syrine's attitude she felt she was entitled to have now that she realized the Dark Lord needed her. She was still near worthless to him, and Jason knew his fellow Death Eaters would disrespect her as much as, if not more than, they had disrespected Jack Deblanc.
"I'll send your items out. You are more than welcome to have some fun in Hogsmeade today, but I expect to meet you next to the Hogs Head in one hour. From there, you'll co-Apparate with me to our location. Once we get there, you are not to leave my side or make eye contact with anyone - my Lord's orders - until we meet with Him." He figured she would have an argument or some smart-ass remark about that, but it was prudent she follow orders.
"If you can't follow this simple order, then you're not going to be needed anymore." Jason said it simply. He wasn't playing games, and he hoped she would take this seriously.

She let his remarks wash over her, she heard nothing but the direction in a monotone voice. "Alright" she said simply and turned to go, "One hour" she repeated and with that she opened the door and left. She wanted as little contact as possible with Jason. She went to find her brother, she might not see him again for awhile and she wanted to tell him she was leaving, for her specail seers school. It was strange how easily he beleived her, she felt guilty of course, but she was to protect her family. If they knew. Who knows what someone might do to them. When she hugged him to go, he wouldn't realize what it meant or when she said goodbye. She'd send a letter to her mother of course to do the same.
Have fun in Hogsmeade... because everyone felt like partying it up before they were about to give their life away, she thought bitterly and then stopped herself. There was a reason she was doing this. She had to hold on to something, as far as any of the deatheaters knew she was doing it to save Jack because she cared about him, but she could see past that, but she didn't know what she was seeing, so it would be safe from Voldemort as well. It was just her reason for now. It had no form or shape, but she knew it was important. Fate drove people to do strange things.
She moved quietly through the hall it was amazing how she fell back into being invisable, not many every truelly noticed her anyway.
