Zoey shrugged. She didn't think she was that interesting either - though she certainly found things about George interesting. Maybe that was just because she was infatuated with him.
"Well... I just hang out at school, really. Go to classes. I spend a lot of time with Alec and Bobby. That's about it, nothing interesting." She shrugged too.
"What's it like to run a joke shop?"

"Well its hectic, but brilliant, of course me and George prefer more of the research and testing bit rather then the dealing with disgruntled customers bit, but it all comes with the territory, besides we'll have help soon. Demitri is practically signed up already to work for us right after school", he laughed. The kid was good he had to admit and had some brilliant ideas. "That whole mudslide on the staircases... wish I could have been there to see that".
"We're working on a new security measure, to do something really embaressing to any little munchkin with sticky fingers", he rolled his eyes theft was becoming a problem for them. So they were going to do it the Weasley way. "Backfiring products or something of that sort, haven't really worked out any of the kinks yet", he shrugged. His face had lit up, as it usually did when he spoke of his work.
"So Alec isn't going to try to attack me or anything, taking out his sister?" he winked, "Wouldn't want him to find me after work or something." Not that he was actually particularly afraid of Alec, but what better way to insure she knew this was a real date.

Zoey laughed. God, she remembered that day. The professors were livid, Peeves was having a field day, and the first years were sliding everywhere, not having seen the mud on the rush to the Great Hall for dinner.
"It was pretty epic," she laughed. "It's still the best thing he's ever done, easily, even though he's done so many pranks." Dimitri was a funny guy - she didn't know him well, as he was a Slytherin, but Owen knew him a little bit better, and he had told her about him.
It was great for Zoey to see George all lit up, talking about making jokes to prevent theft. "That's going to be awesome once you figure it out, though," she smiled at him.
Zoey smiled and her stomach flipped 15 times when he asked about Owen's reaction. That meant that this was definitely a date - and that was good.
She blushed and shook her head. "No, he'll be good. I'll just explain to him what's up. He's a Ravenclaw, he's gotta be somewhat smart, right?" she laughed. Owen was definitely the protective brother type, but he would calm down once Zoey explained to him how much she liked George. Or so she hoped.

"Smart, common sense, and overprotectiveness do not go together in the same sentence, trust me, as one of six brothers to one sister", he smiled. Ginny was screwed when she decided to dated anyone who wasn't Harry of course Harry had been ok, Dean had not been, but anyone else, they better look out.
The waitress came by then, to take their drinks and orders, efficiency, George's favorite. George gave her a smile and a wink and ordered the biggest hamburger they had with everything on it. What he was still a growing boy, in his mind at least. He waited for Zoey to order and the waitress to leave to continue the conversation.

Zoey smiled at the woman and ordered a lemonade and a simple bacon cheeseburger with all of her favorite fixings. After the waitress left, she turned back to George.
"Well, I'll talk some sense into Owen," she laughed. "And he knows who you are... it's not like I'm going out with some random guy. Or a Slytherin." Zoey remembered when her and Bobby first started talking, and how she had to explain to Owen that they were just friends.... at 11 years old. Owen took it well once he realized that she was telling the truth.

"Girl can eat", he smiled teasingly, he never minded a girl with a healthy appetite, after all, Molly Weasley would simply not put up with it. He smiled thinking of his mother and then shook the thought from his mind, didn't want to get ahead of himself with this one. Unlike his brother George had more a tendacy to fall fast.
"If not we can always poison his food with something that keeps him immobilized" George laughed, but in all honestly it wasn't a bad idea, everytime he wanted to take Zoey out. He had seen how Owen was with her first hand, the kid hung around the shop enough with Demitri. Plus he wasn't sure the famous jokester would be much better then a Slytherin, however George and Fred were fairly successful, hence where the playboy reputation came around from, Fred lived it up of course, George was simply the mystery brother. It was odd seeing him and his brother as eligable bachelors in witch weekly.

Zoey grinned, laughing. She was hungry and she wasn't ashamed of it - unlike many girls, Zoey had no problem eating her fill. She didn't gain weight easily, and never gorged herself. But a good burger and fries was her weakness. "What can I say, I'm hungry and I love a good cheeseburger," she said.
She listened to him talk, laughing, it was great that everything was so simple and easy with George. Conversation was coming natural now, she was less nervous now that she knew it was a date. It was almost a comfort to her.
"Oh I'm pretty sure that if we needed to, you and your brother could come up with some Immobilizing Icing or something like that," she joked back. "Owen might give a little trouble, but I think he'd like you pretty quickly. I mean, I like you," she blushed at her admittance - it wasn't really something she planned on saying or needed to say, but saying it out loud still made her blush.]

George's face went as red as his hair at her words, and he couldn't keep the grin off his face. "Ya?" knowing it was more of a rhetorical question, so before giving her time to answer he followed it up with mumbled, "Well I like you too", he paused stammered for a moment, "I mean if thats ok and all?" he was a bit older then her afterall, and he was George Weasley, which was probably two red flags right there.
"I'm getting us dessert", he said with a air of a man on a mission. If she was, who he thought she was, then the huge, too big for one person, cake entitled Death by Chocolate would be right up the girls ally.
He summoned the waitress over, "One of my usual, two forks", he said and the girl left as quickly as she came. Ok so he came here a lot a lot. "If you say you dont like chocolate you'll have ruined my entire plan to sway you with a giant chocolate cake", he turned his attention back to Zoey, "and i'm not sure i'll be able to recover from that".

Zoey was blushing deeply and giggled as George stammered out an "I like you too" and asked if it was okay. She thought that was probably the most ridiculous thing ever. Why wouldn't it be okay?
"If it wasn't okay.... I wouldn't be here," Zoey smiled. It was the first somewhat smooth thing she had said all night regarding the two of them liking each other, and she hoped this meant her awkwardness was over. It probably wasn't, but a girl could hope.
She couldn't stop grinning either, her stomach was doing giddy flips. "Chocolate? What girl doesn't love chocolate?"
"I think giant chocolate cake would do the trick just fine." Chocolate was probably one of her favorite things to eat - she loved chocolate frogs. "Though I'm sure you could find another way to sway me without chocolate if need be," she joked.

"I don't know" he shrugged, "I'm not much of a swayer" he smiled. A moment later the biggest peice of chocolate cake showed up in front of them with two forks sticking out of the top.
"Tripple layers of chocolate, chocolate icing", showed off the cake like some sort of game show hostess, "Ladies first", he motioned for the fork closest to Zoey. "But try not to make a scene when its the best thing you've ever tasted".

Zoey laughed and picked up the fork and took a medium sized bite of the cake. It was sweet and very chocolatey, but not overdone. It was definitely one of the best chocolate cakes that she had ever had, a perfect finish to dinner.
"Oh my god," she said, eyes bright as she looked over to George. "It is the best thing ever! How do Muggles know how to make food so brilliantly?"
She took another bite and smiled, watching George as she chewed. He was really sweet, cute, funny, and probably more things. She really liked him, and was glad to hear that he liked her back. It was amazing how easy it was becoming to talk to him, how her nerves had pretty much gone away. Zoey was having a good time and was trying not to think about how soon their meal together would be over.

George smiled "I said not to make a scene" he teased, as he took his first bite. He focused his attention on the delicious cake, before looking up and noticing Zoey watching him. A nervous expression crossed his face, and he gave her a quick smile.
"What?" he finally asked through bites, "Do I have some on my face?" Without waiting for an answer he took the frosting from his next bite of cake and smeared it on his face. "How about now? Better?" he chuckled.
Frowned for a moment, "Well that won't" do he reached his incredibly long arms across the table put a dollop of frosting on Zoey's nose, he sat back with a satisfied smile, "There much better". He was pretty sure he had gone mad. Most girls would butcher him for messing up their pristine look, but if he had learned anything about Zoey, he hoped that she would be the exact opposite of one of those kind of girls, because honestly she had to be to survive George Weasley.
Besides, even with the frosting on her face she was still damn adorable, and George was having a hard time keeping the smile from his face as he waited for her to react.

Zoey laughed as George caught her staring at him and smeared chocolate icing on his face. "You look great like that," she joked.
When he reached across the table to smear chocolate frosting on her face, she laughed even harder. A few Muggles at surrounding tables looked over at the redheaded pair and smiled, thinking that they were quite the adorable young couple being silly.
"Oh my god!" she said, her eyes bright with laughter. She reached across and smeared the frosting from his nose all the way across his cheek, then took a bit more frosting and did the same to his other side.
"There, look, now you're Chief of the Chocolate Tribe," she teased him, sitting back and grinning at him.
George was goofy and quirky and fun, and Zoey liked every bit of that.

George laughed at the matter, it was all in good fun. When she mentioned chief, his devious brain had already worked out his next move.
"Me big chief coco", he said in his terrible impression of the Indians he had seen in old muggle cartoons. "You little squaw", he patted her head affectionately, before standing to his full height. "Little Squaw, not enough warpaint", he moved into her side of the booth next to her, using his serious chief face to look down at her. Took a fingerful of frosting and smeared it across her forehead. Two could play this game and George was all for games.
His face broke into a smile upon seeing what he had done. "Bugger it", he said in half a laugh and bent his head down kissing Zoey firmly on the lips and messing up both their warpaint. It was only a short kiss, he didn't want to push her into anything, but he had wanted to do that. Damn had he wanted to do that. It made it more enjoyable that they both tasted like chocolate at the moment and he used his hand to try and wipe some of the smeared chocolate from her face. Hopefully he hadn't frightened the poor girl away. George Weasley was not known for his lack of acting on impulses.

Zoey laughed as George made his Indian impersonation. Being American, she had been exposed to things like old Muggle cartoons and knew exactly what he was trying to do. Her eyes crinkled as he mussed her hair.
She blushed when he moved over to her side of the booth. "Oh my god!" she gasped when he smeared more icing on her face and was about to retaliate when she was shocked to find George leaning down to kiss her. Her eyes closed and she found herself kissing him back - it was a very good kiss, especially for their first kiss. And it tasted like chocolate.
When George pulled back, Zoey opened her eyes and smiled widely at him. She still had the laughter in her eyes and her face was a little red from blushing. "Wow" was all she could manage to say.
