He had obviously prepared this in advance, maybe even planned it since the first time they met. Syrine Bonaparte was his secret salvation, and these were his final gifts to her. The orb which had changed at the flux in Jack DeBlanc’s emotions, which now was clear save for the strange translucent liquid inside. And the diary. Read the last page of your diary tonight. It will explain things.
It needed but a single touch to activate the charm; Syrine just needed to brush her fingers against the page, and all would be revealed:-
If you’re reading this Syrine, I am so terribly sorry for the way things turned out. I hope you are well, and safe, and if you are not then I apologise with all my soul.
You’re wondering, no doubt, about any cryptic messages I may have left for you. If you don’t already have it, the orb I wore around my neck is in my will for you, and nobody can dispute that, it is your property now.
If you haven’t already figured it out, don’t worry, I intended for it to be confusing. The orb was a Mood Orb, made of a crystal found on the moon Callisto. It changes colour in accordance to the owners emotion. If I am dead, then it will be almost clear, and what you see inside are memories. These are collected memories of all my most important visions. They relate to the war, to Harry Potter and to Voldemort. You must view them in a pensieve, then destroy them. They will belong to you in your mind, and if you practise occulumpsy then they will remain yours and untouchable by anybody who tries to view them without your permission.
I know that it is impossible to talk to the dead (Excluding ghosts and portraits, of course) therefore I have planned ahead, and I’ve left messages, and hints, as best I could, to help you. Most are in the diary you possess, but others will become clearer as you progress. You can ask questions to this diary, and I have predicted as many answers to the questions I assumed you would ask. If you write your question, my reply should hopefully appear. If it remains blank, then I am sorry, but I didn’t expect that question.. I hope you understand, I can only presume what you might wish to know. I will, after all, be dead when you finally discover this page. It’s surprisingly difficult, even with Sight, to understand how somebody will react after I am gone.
This is difficult, and I’m sorry I couldn’t explain any better. I hope with all my heart that you succeed, and that you accomplish all that you desire. I hope you are safe, and well, and most of all you are happy. Remember, trust your instincts and your Sight, for they are your most basic and brilliant tools.
I adore you, and I hope that my death will not bring you any more pain than necessary, but that you will gain insight and knowledge, and that you will learn from the mistakes I made.
Be strong. Be brilliant. Be safe.
Yours, for all eternity
Jack Pierre DeBlanc
